Goalie Drills

To the uninitiated goal tending may seem to have a limited scope of movement or required skill but nothing could be further from the truth. A good goaltender has honed various skills specific to their position. They need to be a good skater, agile, conditioned to play long periods, flexible, and responsive with speed.

At AAA Pros we focus on 7 areas of training in goaltending training:

  • Stance
  • Positioning
  • T-Push
  • Shuffle
  • C-cut
  • Butterfly
  • Full Recovery

There are several things that a goalie can do to get noticed. While many of these may be tough to pick out in any tryout, the most important ones should stand out. Here are five essential traits to focus on as a goalie:

  • Fundamentals/Edgework
  • Quickness/Athleticism/Puck Tracking
  • Attitude
  • Mental Toughness
  • Big-Game Ability

Become more explosive, improve your mobility, and become an all-round better hockey goalie with training that is goalie-specific!
